Opportunities Continue to Expand
Nova Scotia wines are sold at the "farm gate" on-site at the wine producer's facility, through licensed restaurants, at local private liquor stores and through the Nova Scotia Liquor Corporation (NSLC). Nova Scotia wines are also exported. Distribution in other provinces requires that the producer meet their particular specifications and requirements.
Recent changes to policies of the NSLC make selling through their distribution system more profitable for farm wineries in Nova Scotia. The requirements for commercial wine sold through the NSLC and private liquor stores are spelled out in the province's Nova Scotia Farm Winery Policy.
