Growing Organic Movement

With a popular movement toward "organic" and "locally grown" it's only logical that wines would take the same path.

L'Acadie Vineyards, set in the beautiful Gaspereau Valley, is Nova Scotia's first certified organic winery and the first vineyard specializing in traditional method sparkling wines. To be certified organic, records and practices are regularly inspected by a third party to ensure a recognized set of organic growing and production standards are met.

Besides the desire to avoid consumption of additives and chemicals and the desire to promote good stewardship, consumers are beginning to appreciate organic wines for their clear sense of place, authenticity and expression of their terrior. There is great opportunity in Nova Scotia to expand this market.
